General Remodeling – Processes

Step 1: Visit and Preliminary Estimate

We meet with you in your home in order to get acquainted, and evaluate your remodeling needs and ideas. Important details for us to consider include project timeframe, Project Budget, and your vision for the finished product (pictures clipped from magazines are often helpful). We will advise you of any foreseeable issues, such as structural, electrical, plumbing, and zoning concerns, and pull rough measurements. Generally, this meeting lasts no longer than 90 minutes. Within seven days we will present a Preliminary Estimate
Preliminary Estimate which includes a mini-spreadsheet outlining project steps and corresponding costs.

TIMEFRAME: Visit to take approximately 90 minutes, estimate within seven days of visit

Step 2. Planning and Design

If you are satisfied with our preliminary estimate, we enter the planning and design phase. During this stage, Four Brothers and our designers and architects work to match your stylistic needs with your budget, select materials, and produce conceptual and Construction Drawings and Three Dimensional Renderings.Construction DrawingsConstruction DrawingsConstruction DrawingsConstruction DrawingsConstruction DrawingsConstruction DrawingsConstruction DrawingsThis is one of the most important and time consuming portions of the entire project, and requires a coordinated effort between Four Brothers and you, the client. We expedite this process by creating a Design Gantt ChartDesign Gantt Chart in which tasks, responsible parties, and projected milestones are outlined.
COST: Varies by project, but roughly eight to twelve percent of total estimated construction cost.

Step 3: Construction

Once design is complete and you sign a Construction Contract , we pull the necessary permits, and begin construction. We share our Google Production Calendar with you (which we update regularly), so you know what to expect each day. During construction we place particular emphasis on protecting your home and maintaining a pristine work area. One of the four Johnson brothers will serve as the point person during the construction phase and will brief you daily on progress. We make ourselves available (by both phone and email) 24 hours a day, seven days a week should any questions or problems arise.

Step 4: Cleanup and Evaluation

When construction is complete, we thoroughly clean the project site (including dusting, sweeping, mopping), and remove any lingering construction debris. Finally, we mail you a comprehensive Evaluation DocumentEvaluation Document so you can grade our service from start to finish. Your candid input is vital and controls the future direction of our company.
